Founded in 1989 by John Kennedy and Philip Woolmer we are an independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Rochester, Kent, offering a comprehensive range of services, support and advice to large and small businesses and private clients.

We pride ourselves on providing our staff with a great place to work and our clients a high level of service.

This has meant that once joining us, both client and staff alike stay with us for many years. It is this personal, friendly service which sets us apart from many other firms.

Doing business in Rochester, Kent.

We have been based in Rochester from day one at our office on Star Hill.

Rochester is steeped in history and is also a great place to do business. With easy access to London via the train network and great motorway links (Well at least most of the time), Rochester is in good geographical location.

There are some excellent businesses located in Rochester and Kent, and we are proud to have served them over the last 25 years and look forward to the next 25.

Will Wood BA FCAManaging Director

Will is a Chartered Accountant, Business Adviser and Author.

Will is dedicated to helping his clients achieve their business ambitions.

With over 15 years experience in a variety of industries, Will brings a wealth of knowledge to Woolmer & Kennedy. Will is responsible for the day to day running of the business.

Will’s true passion is helping clients navigate through challenges and efficiencies that technology can bring.

Philip Woolmer FCA CTATax Manager

Philip is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Chartered Tax Advisor.

Since qualifying in 1981 Philip has worked in practice servicing clients from a broad range of industries, professions and charities and became a founding partner in Woolmer and Kennedy in 1989.

His role in the business is now helping organisations and individuals with tax planning and compliance matters.

Jonathan Nicholson Accounts Manager

Jonathan joined Woolmer and Kennedy on its commencement in1990 as a Junior Accountant.

During his time with the practice, he has progressed to the role of Accounts Manager.

Jonathan has extensive experience dealing with the accounts of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as those of clubs, associations and small charities.

Outside of the office, Jonathan enjoys cycling and kayaking.

Laura WoolleyAccounts Assistant

Laura began her career as an assistant bookkeeper and payroll clerk, from there she has moved on to become an assistant accountant and a payroll manager; producing VAT returns, self assessment tax returns and accounts production.

Laura has worked within accountancy for seven years, three of which have been at Woolmer and Kennedy.

Laura has years of experience on Sage Accounts as well as Sage Payroll. She is also in the process of becoming a Xero accredited bookkeeper and is aiming to become AAT qualified.
In her spare time, Laura enjoys yoga and socialising with friends and family.

Megan GoeeAccounts assistant

Megan is the newest member of our team. Having graduated from the University of Kent with a First Class Honours in Accounting and Management, she hopes to continue her ACCA qualification to become fully qualified..

Megan started her career as a Purchase Ledger Clerk in an accounts department but has now moved towards becoming a practice accountant training in bookkeeping, payroll and accounts production. Megan has experience on Sage and has recently become Xero Accredited.

In her spare time, Megan likes to walk her dogs and socialise with her friends and family. She also enjoys going to the theatre to see musicals.

Mia keatleyMarketing Manager

Mia graduated from Canterbury Christ Church University with a 2:1 in Advertising and Marketing.

Mia’s role for Woolmer and Kennedy is to manage all aspects of marketing which, includes the website, branding and all our social media channels.

She also makes sure all touchpoints for our clients are up to date and informative.

Outside the office Mia enjoys walking her dog and fashion. 

Karen VouttOffice Administrator

Karen began her career as a secretary in an advertising agency before moving to the world of market research and eventually to the position of personal assistant to the CEO. After a break having her two children, she returned to work, again in market research, this time in a personnel/administrative role.

Karen’s role at Woolmer and Kennedy is to ensure the office is organised and that any issues are dealt with promptly. Karen will be involved with all aspects of client administration and communication.

Most of Karen’s spare time is spent with friends and family and she especially enjoys eating out! She also loves animals and has a cat, a rabbit, two guinea pigs and some fish!

Kirsty WoodOffice Administrator

After graduating from University with a degree in Business Studies & Marketing, Kirsty went to work within the Marketing Department of a food manufacturer, before moving on to work in Marketing at an Accountancy Practice where she remained for 12 years.

Kirsty took a career break to raise her two children and has returned to work in an admin capacity at Woolmer & Kennedy, sharing the role of Office Administrator with Karen, to oversee the general running of the office.

In her free time, Kirsty likes to spend time with family and friends, and enjoys playing hockey
